Water, Spirit, and Blood

 

1 John 5:6-8 『This is he who came by water and blood, Jesus Christ; not by water only, but by water and blood. It is the Spirit who bears witness, and the Spirit is the truth. There are three who bear witness, the Spirit, the water, and the blood; and these three are one.』There are many differences between the Greek and Korean Revised Version.』

ὅτι τρεῖς εἰσιν οἱ μαρτυροῦντες ,τὸ πνεῦμα καὶ τὸ ὕδωρ καὶ τὸ αἷμα, καὶ οἱ τρεῖς εἰς τὸ ἕν εἰσιν.εἰ τὴν μαρτυρίαν τῶν ἀνθρώπων λαμβάνομεν, ἡ μαρτυρία τοῦ θεοῦ μείζων ἐστίν· ὅτι αὕτη ἐστὶν ἡ μαρτυρία τοῦ θεοῦ, ὅτι μεμαρτύρηκεν περὶ τοῦ υἱοῦ αὐτοῦ.

Based on the Greek Bible, it emphasizes that the one who testifies is the Father, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit. The Father, God the Father, has delegated all authority to Christ. Therefore, the one who testifies is Jesus Christ. It also explains the evidence of faith that Jesus is the Son of God.

Water means the law. Christ is hidden in the law. Blood means Jesus who came to this world and died on the cross. Jesus Christ exists in the law, and after John the Baptist, when the age of the law ended, he came to this world in the flesh.

The one who testifies is Jesus Christ. He testifies in the law, before he died on the cross, and after he died on the cross and was resurrected. Jesus in the law, Jesus Christ who came to the world in the flesh and died on the cross according to the law, and Christ who was resurrected by the Holy Spirit are the ones who testify. Therefore, the one who testifies is Jesus Christ alone.

The evidence that God gave regarding His Son can be found in John 6:28-29. The Jews asked Jesus, “What must we do, that we may work the works of God?” Jesus answered, “This is the work of God, that you believe in Him whom He has sent.” Regarding believing in the One whom God has sent, God promised the offspring of the woman in Genesis 3:15, and gave the law to the people of Israel in the Old Testament, and the Christ hidden in that law is Jesus Christ. This is what we must believe.

The purpose of God giving the law was to make you realize that you are all sinners who have turned away from God, and through the sacrifice, you realize that humans cannot achieve righteousness on their own, and to look forward to the Christ who would come. Therefore, you must believe that the one foretold by numerous prophets is Jesus Christ. The faith mentioned here is what the pioneers of faith in Hebrews 11 believed. Hebrews 11:1 says, “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” God’s testimony refers to all the evidence from the Old Testament to the New Testament.

John 15:26-27 “When the Counselor comes, whom I will send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth who goes out from the Father, he will testify about me. And you also will testify, because you have been with me from the beginning.” When we talk about the present resurrection, church people do not believe it. However, the Holy Spirit, who is the truth, testifies. Those who are in Christ are those who were born of water and the Spirit, and furthermore, they receive the baptism of the Holy Spirit, the resurrected body which is the life of heaven, and become ministers who preach the word of God. To preach the word is to preach the death of the cross and the present resurrection. However, to preach the word today is to preach the resurrection after the death of the body, and not to preach the second coming of Christ who enters the soul.

1 John 5:11-12 And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. He that hath the Son hath life; he that hath not the Son of God hath not life. Life is the life that quickens the spirit. In John 6:63 it is said, "It is the spirit that quickens; the flesh profiteth nothing." It means that the spirit of him that is in Christ is alive, and the spirit of him that is not is dead.
